Second-line mental health care

Specialised mental health care (GGZ) with the explicit purpose to cure patients after they are referred by, for example, their GP to a psychiatrist, psychotherapist, GGZ institution ( psychiatric hospital, psychiatric ward in a hospital or institution engaged in care and treatment of drug addicts).
Admissions in an institution lasting longer than twelve months are not included, because they are not covered by the basic health insurance, but by the Exceptional Medical Expenses Act (AWBZ).
