Private sector investments down again

The volume of private sector investments in tangible fixed assets was nearly 11 percent down in November 2012 from November 2011. The decline is slightly more substantial than in October, when private sector investments were nearly 9 percent down from one year previously.

The downturn in investments was largely due to differences in the working-day pattern. November 2012 had the same number of working days as November 2011, whereas October 2012 had two working days more than October 2011.

By means of six indicators, the Investment Radar shows whether circumstances for Dutch private sector investment have become more or less favourable and which factors played a crucial part in these developments. According to January’s Investment Radar, the investment climate hardly changed.
