In response to demands from the labour market to stimulate the inflow of mbo graduates and people with a job in higher professional education (hbo), in study year 2006/’07 the two-yearassociate-degree programme was introduced. With an associate degree, graduates can continue their education towards a bachelor’s degree. The entry requirements for the associate degree programme are the same as for the regular hbo bachelor programme: senior general secondary education (havo), pre-university education (vwo), level 4 of senior secondary vocational education (mbo), or an equivalent diploma from another country.
