More people moved house in latter half of 2011

Nearly 1.5 million people moved house in 2011, almost as many as in 2010. The number of people who moved house in the last six months of 2011 grew marginally relative to the same period in 2010. A period of year-on-year decline starting mid-2006 appears to have ended. Altogether, 870 thousand persons moved within the boundaries of their municipality of residence last year and 593 thousand persons left to settle in another municipality.
