The new Wajong Act came into effect on 1 January 2010. Unlike the 'old' Wajong Act, young ill and disabled persons are primarily entitled to assistance in finding and keeping a job. They can also receive income assistance. The 'old' Wajong Act still applies to young people who have submitted a request for a benefit prior to 1 January 2010. Back to article
