Slightly more bankruptcies

In July this year, 462 businesses and institutions (excluding one-man businesses) in the Netherlands were declared bankrupt, slightly more than in June.

As the number of businesses declared bankrupt in a particular month is closely related to the number of days the courts are in session, it may vary considerably from month to month. Therefore, the three-monthly moving average is a more reliable indicator.

The three-monthly moving average was 486 in July versus 479 in June. The three-monthly moving average has varied around 500 for a year now.

The figures published in this update have been adjusted from those published on 10 August 2011. The revision is based on new and more detailed information.
