Electricity generation

The main activity of power stations is to generate electricity. A distinction can be made between:
• centralised generation in large power stations which supply electricity to the national grid on a regular basis
• decentralised generation, i.e. a joint venture between the power station and another company
There are also industrial and non-industrial companies which generate electricity for in-house consumption.
