The Dutch terms of trade of imported and exported goods improved slightly in October 2010 compared with October 2009. Prices of imported goods were 7.1 percent higher, prices of exported goods rose by 7.6 percent. October was the third month in a row in which terms of trade improved compared with one year previously.
Higher prices for natural gas, petroleum derivatives, basic metals and chemical products contributed most to the increase in export prices in October. Import prices of these products were also much higher than one year previously, just as import prices of crude oil.
