Slight improvement terms of trade

Dutch terms of trade of imported and exported goods improved slightly in August 2010 compared with August 2009. Prices of imported goods were 6.8 percent higher, prices of exported goods rose by 7.2 percent.

Higher prices for natural gas, basic metals, chemical products and petroleum derivatives contributed most to the increase in export prices in August. Import prices of these products, including crude oil, were also up on twelve months ago.
