The absolute turnover figure for the construction sector over 2009 was calculated by extrapolation of the most recent turnover level from the production statistics construction over 2007 with turnover developments from the short-term statistics construction up to and including 2009. The turnover level in 2007 approximated 83 billion euro. The growth rates in 2008 and 2009 were 9.8 and -4.5 percent respectively. If these growth rates are applied to the level of 2007, the level of turnover in 2009 is about 87 billion euro.
