Dispatch time

Dispatch time is defined as the time between the receipt of a fire alarm call in an emergency centre and notification of the fire station. In the case of a major fire, various fire brigade units may be alarmed. As a result, dispatch times increase to tens or even hundreds of minutes. These cases constitute less than 1 percent of all fire incidents, but severely distort the average picture. The time between notification of the fire station and the moment of departure from the station is also very high in a limited number of cases.
