These are work agreements between decentralised local authorities, e.g. between municipalities, provinces or water boards. Agreements may also be drawn up between a province and a number of municipalities within this province. The collaboration is drawn up under the official legislation covering these agreements (Wet gemeenschappelijke regelingen). The local authorities participating transfer the tasks and responsibilities concerned to the collaborative agreements in which they participate.
