Data on home and hospital births are based on the Health Survey as part of the Integrated System of Social Surveys (POLS), conducted by Statistics Netherlands. All 15 to 50-year-old women were asked whether they had had any children in the past 24 months and, if so, how many and whether they had given birth at home or in hospital. Only the last delivery is recorded. As this is a sample survey, the results are subject to a margin of error.
