Dutch share market suffers 32 billion euro loss in October

After a dramatic loss of 178 billion euro over the first nine months of this year, another 32 billion euro vanished into thin air in October. October was not the worst month of 2008, but share prices followed an irregular pattern last month. On 6 October, for example, an amount in excess of 30 billion euro went up in smoke. On 22 January, an even larger amount (32 billion euro) evaporated. On 13 October, the value of shares increased by more than 26 million euro. With losses of more than 73 and 66 billion euro respectively, January and September were the most disastrous months of the year so far.
