This includes spending by central government, and provincial and municipal authorities, including joint spending by two or more municipalities. The large group of foundations, associations and public limited companies which are strongly controlled or subsidised by government are not included. To prevent double counting, the amounts are corrected for transfers between the various levels of government. The figures on government spending in 2007 are provisional. Those for 2002-2006 are definite.
