These are marriages in which a person living in the Netherlands marries a person who migrates to the Netherlands especially for the purpose of marriage. A marriage in which one of the partners arrived in the Netherlands in or after the year of the marriage, and the other partner was already living in the Netherlands before the year of marriage is defined as a migration marriage.
