Household consumption

National or total household consumption 

The national consumption refers to expenditure by households on goods and services. The expenditure may have been within the Netherlands or abroad.

Domestic household consumption

Domestic household consumption refers to all expenditure by households in the Netherlands. This may be the expenditure by Dutch and by foreign households. Expenditure of Dutch households abroad is not taken into account in domestic household consumption.

Volume figures

Statistics Netherlands usually publishes figures on the volume changes in household consumption. This is the development of consumption corrected for price changes. The growth rate on 2006 is corrected for changes in the health care system.
