Consumer confidence in the US

Each month, the University of Michigan publishes the results of the US consumer confidence survey. This figure is based on five component indicators:
- financial situation relative to one year ago;
- financial situation in the year to come;
- economic climate in the next twelve months;
- economic climate in the next five years;
- favourable time for buying expensive items.
Apart from the question about the economic climate in the next five years, the questions in the US consumer confidence survey tally with those in the survey conducted by Statistics Netherlands.
