Waste separation

The separate collection of certain categories of waste underwent a strong increase in the early nineties; two separate types of household waste are distinguished:

  • “Small” household waste:
this is regular day-to-day household waste that is limited in size and weight. It also includes separately collected waste such as organic kitchen and garden waste, glass and used paper.
  • Bulky household waste:
this includes waste of private households that is too large or too heavy to be collected in the same way as small household waste. This may include furniture, large household appliances, (washing machines, fridges, television sets), construction waste and bulky garden waste.
