More than ten thousand persons who were in the first year of secondary education in 1989 (at the time aged between 12 and 13) were monitored for hospital admission in the period 1994-2004. Data on hospital admissions from the National Medical Registration kept by the Health Care and Advice Institute Prismant were linked to data on first year secondary education pupils of 1989 provided by Statistics Netherlands.
