Personal debt restructuring

The personal debt restructuring scheme falls under the Dutch Bankruptcy Act.
The aim of the scheme is to prevent private individuals, with or without their own business, suffering from the effects of a  debt for a prolonged period. Creditors are also required to cooperate under the scheme.

The figures in this article refer to restructuring arrangements that started in the period 1998-2002, and ended before 1 July 2006.
