The premium for the basic health insurance is not included in the CPI, because the basic health insurance is imperative for every Dutch citizen. In the past, only part of the payments not covered by the health insurance system, were included in the CPI. Costs of paramedical services, dental treatments and hospitals are included in the new CPI, unless covered by the basic health insurance.
