This article refers to the international definition of labour participation: the percentage of 15 to 64-year-olds working in paid jobs at least 1 hour a week. The international definition deviates from the national definition used by Statistics Netherlands, which only applies to people working at least 12 hours a week. According to the international definition, the labour participation rate in the Netherlands stood at 63 percent in 2005.
