More hours worked in temp jobs

The index of the number of hours worked in temp jobs phase A in the fourth quarter of 2005, corrected for seasonal influences, was 102 (2000=100). This is a 6 percent increase on the preceding quarter. In the third quarter there was a 4 percent increase. The number of hours worked in temp jobs phase A has been rising since the first quarter of 2004. For 2004 as a whole, the increase was 6 percent, for 2005 nearly 18 percent.

Phase A include temp workers working for temp agencies on a contract basis, without being regular terms of employment. In phase A it is easy for both parties, employer and employee, to quit work. Easier than in phases B and C.
