Standardized fertility rate
Indirect standardized fertility rate:
Fertility rate of a region, calculated in such way that regions become comparable.
Indirect standardization equates the age distribution of women of childbearing age (15 to 50 years) in a region with that of the Caribbean Netherlands as a whole. This eliminates the effects of, for example, a relatively large number of women of the most fertile or least fertile age. The standardized figure makes it easier to compare regions.
