This table contains information about population developments due to birth, mortality and foreign migration on the islands of Bonaire, Saba and St. Eustatius.
Since 10 October 2010, the islands of Bonaire, Saba and St. Eustatius have the status of 'special municipalities' of the Netherlands.

Population dynamics
Changes in size, composition and / or location of the population.

Population:
The total number of people residing in a given area.
The total number of people residing in the CaribbeanNetherlands. In the population statistics compiled by Statistics Netherlands the inhabitants are the people registered in the population register of a CN municipality.
The population registers do not include persons living in the Caribbean Netherlands who fall under exemption provisions regarding inclusion in the population registers (e.g. diplomats) and persons who do not legally reside in the Caribbean Netherlands.

Residents of a municipality in the Caribbean Netherlands.
Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba has had the status of a 'special municipality' of the Netherlands since 10 October 2010.
Arrivals in the CN municipality
Arrivals in the CN (Caribbean Netherlands) municipality due to immigration or intermunicipal move.

Immigration
People moving to the CN municipalities from another country.
For Bonaire, St Eustatius and Saba, also includes immigration from European Netherlands.
Persons must be entered in the municipal population register to be counted as migrants.

A computerised population register used by the municipalities.

Departure of people abroad. This concerns the emigration reported to the municipality. At Bonaire, St Eustatius and Saba, departure to European Netherlands is also counted. In order to be counted as an expatriate, these persons must be registered in the municipal population register.

Administrative entries into minus administrative removals of personal data from the municipal population register.

Administrative entry:
Decision by a municipality, at the request of the person concerned, to include that person in its population while it has no knowledge of birth, immigration or establishment of that person from another municipality in the CaribbeanNetherlands.

Administrative removal:
Decision by a municipality no longer to include a person in its population, once it has established that the address of the person is unknown, the person cannot be contacted and probably no longer resides in a municipality in the Caribbean Netherlands.
Net migration
The number of people moving in minus the number of people moving out.

Total net migration
The number of people moving in minus the number of people moving out.
Foreign net migration
Persons who settle in a CN-municipality (excluding people from Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba) minus the inhabitants who leave a CN-municipality to settle outside a CN-municipality.
