Psychosocial symptoms
Psychosocial symptoms are measured with the aid of the 'Affect
Balance Scale'. Since 1989 respondents are asked if they suffer from:
'loneliness', 'restlessness', 'boredom', 'depression' and 'feeling upset'.
The figures refer to persons who report suffering from one or more of
these complaints 'often' or 'very often' .
