Total dwellings
Occupied dwellings
A building or part of a building designed for permanent occupation by a
one-person or multi-person household. Construction or conversion requires
that certain technical regulations regarding dwellings are met.
A distinction can be made between
- normal dwellings; meant for permanent occupation
- dwellings related to economic activities, e.g. a farmhouse or a
dwelling with an indoor connection to a shop, practice or other business.
Private households
A private household consists of one or more persons living in the same
accommodation and providing for their own daily needs, alone or together.
Until 1988, data on private households refer to the situation on
1 January of each year; in the period 1988-1994, the data refer to the
mid-year situation; from 1995 to 1 January of each year.
One-person households
A one-person household is a household consisting of one person.
Multi-persons households
A multi-person household is a household consisting of two or more persons
living together.

Persons per dwelling
