What has changed in 2018 and 2017?

2018

The declaration threshold for trade with EU member states is € 1,000,000 for imports (ICV) from EU member states and € 1,200,000 for exports (ICL) to EU member states as of January 1, 2017.

The INTRASTAT declaration threshold for 2018 is set forth as follows:

o Companies that have an obligation for an Intrastat declaration in 2018 will be informed by Statistics Netherlands via letter.

o Companies that in 2017 exceeded the annual threshold of € 1,000,000 for imports (ICV) from EU member states or € 1,200,000 for exports (ICL) to EU member states, will receive the obligation to provide Statistics Netherlands with a declaration for 2018.
o The threshold applies separately for imports and exports: a company with a yearly import value (ICV) of € 1,100,000 and an export value (ICL) of € 800,000 need only provide Statistics Netherlands with the import data.
o Only companies that have trade between € 1.000.000 and € 5.000.000 in Intra Community Arrivals and/or between € 1.200.000 and € 5.000.000 in Intra Community Dispatches can put in a yearly declaration. The companies that are allowed to make a yearly declaration will be informed by Statistics Netherlands via letter.

The declaration threshold for trade with EU member states has changed from €1,500,000 to €1,000,000 for imports (ICV) from EU member states and from €1,500,000 to €1,200,000 for exports (ICL) to EU member states as of January 1, 2017.

The INTRASTAT declaration threshold for 2017 is set forth as follows:

• Companies that exceed the threshold in 2017 will be informed by Statistics Nethrlands via letter.

• Companies that in 2016 exceeded the annual threshold of €1,000,000 for imports (ICV) from EU member states, or €1,200,000 for exports (ICL) to EU member states, must continually provide Statistics Netherlands with monthly statistical declarations throughout 2017.

• The threshold applies separately for imports and exports: a company with a yearly import value (ICV) of €1,100,000 and an export value (ICL) of €800,000 need only provide Statistics Netherlands with the import data.

• Companies that in 2016 did not exceed the threshold, but in 2017 will exceed the threshold of €1,000,000 for imports are obliged in 2017 to submit declarations as of the month the threshold is exceeded. This then applies for the remainder of that year: a company that imported commodities from EU member states to the value of €900,000 from the period January to August, and for €110,000 in September, must submit a declaration for imports (ICV) as of September (€110,000) for the remaining months of 2017. A company that exported commodities to the value of €1,100,000 to EU member states from the period January to August, and for €150,000 in September, must submit a declaration for exports (ICL) as of September (€150,000) for the remaining months of 2017.
