Out-patient treatments and in-patient treatments

Day-patient treatments or out-patient hospital admissions are scheduled operations, treatments or medical examinations, which can be performed within one day. All other hospital admissions are defined as out-patient admissions and usually last longer than one day.
Treatments in polyclinics are not included.
To facilitate comparison over time, figures have been corrected for changes in age distribution of the population over time (standardised).
