Student loan

There are conditional and unconditional loans.

Study loans include:

  • basic study grant,
  • supplementary study grant,
  • public transport student travel pass
  • interest-bearing loan,
  • tuition fee credit (introduced in school year 2007/2008).

The basic study grant, the supplementary study grant (save the first year) and the public transport student travel pass are conditional loans and performance-related, i.e. the debt is cancelled, if the student achieves satisfactory results.

Interest-bearing loan and tuition fee credit are unconditional loans and repayment is obligatory.
