Over-65s frequent TV watchers

In 2006, the average Dutchman spent nearly 15 hours a week watching TV, just about the same as in 1997. The amount of hours spent in front of the TV increases with advancing age. With 21 hours a week, people aged 65 and older spend much more time watching TV than 15 to 24-year-olds (less than 13 hours). More than half of over-65s watch TV 20 hours or more a week, as against less than a quarter of young people.
The level of education affects the frequency. Lower educated people watch TV much more often than higher educated people.
