Data from the traffic and transport statistics are also used to compile other relevant figures at Statistics Netherlands.
The environmental statistics show the emissions of air pollutants by burning or evaporation of fossil fuels by mobile sources.
Statistics Netherlands also publishes the energy balance, which includes a special chapter on transport.
Traffic and freight transport
Economic data about the companies in the transport sector and in the motor and car sector. These data together with comparable data on other sectors form the basis for the National accounts.
The consumer price index contains data about the price developments of many products and services, including products and services in traffic and transport. The producer price index of the professional road haulage shows how prices developed of transports with a certain type of vehicle.
Traffic and passenger transport
Data on commuting are also included in the theme Labour and social security. Here the location of the work address, the distance travelled and the means of transport used by the employed labour force are described.
Data are also available in the theme Leisure and culture under the time use of people. One activity is "travelling". This is the time people spent travelling for education, work, shopping etc. Included here is the information on transport methods for holiday purposes.
Non natural causes of death, such as the number of traffic casualties are observed in the theme Population.
