Improvements as well as deteriorations
May’s Exports Radar shows both improvements and deteriorations. In the last six months, circumstances for Dutch exports have hardly changed.
Since the publication of April’s Exports Radar, new data have become available for all indicators. Three indicators showed deterioration. Producer confidence dropped in Germany and across the eurozone. Furthermore, European manufacturers were more pessimistic about their foreign order positions. On the other hand, German manufacturing output growth and the fall in the real effective exchange rate compared to one year previously were both slightly more substantial than in the previous month. Dutch manufacturers’ opinions on their foreign order positions hardly changed.
