Insurance companies and pension funds
Statistics Netherlands compiles statistics with financial data on life and non-life insurance companies and pension funds on the basis of their annual reports to De Nederlandsche Bank. Annual figures are also published on pension fund participants, pension premiums and paid pensions.
In 2004, the Dutch Association of Insurers (Verbond van Verzekeraars) took over responsibility for the monthly statistics on sales of new life insurance.
Banks and other financial institutions
Statistics Netherlands publishes the combined balance sheets for banks and other financial institutions.
Institutional investors
Institutional investors include pension funds, insurance companies, institutions not under supervision, and investment companies. In addition to data on long-term investment, short-term investment and investment in property, Statistics Netherlands publishes the combined balance sheet for this group.
