Circumstances exports deteriorated
According to May’s Exports Radar, circumstances for Dutch exports have deteriorated. In the preceding months, the Exports Radar had shown a mixed picture.
Since the publication of April’s Exports Radar, new data have become available for all indicators. Five of the six indicators showed deterioration. Producer confidence dropped in Germany as well as across the eurozone and the increase in the real effective exchange rate was more substantial than in the preceding month. Furthermore, both Dutch and European manufacturers were slightly more pessimistic about their foreign order positions. On the other hand, the downturn in German manufacturing output compared to one year previously was less substantial than in the previous month.
