Private sector cautiously optimistic about job vacancies in July
The Dutch private sector is cautiously optimistic about developments on the job market. The vacancy-indicator was +0.02 in July 2014, versus +0.05 in June. Prior to this marginal decrease, the mood among entrepreneurs in the private sector regarding job vacancies had improved almost continuously for eighteen months.

Optimism has prevailed in the sectors manufacturing industry and construction for eight consecutive months now, but in the sector commercial services the mood is still negative.Number of job vacancies rises further
The monthly vacancy indicator provides a quick indication of the trend in job vacancies in the private sector. On 14 august 2014 Statistics Netherlands also publishes new quarterly data on the number of job vacancies. At the end of June 2014, there were more than 108 thousand job vacancies, versus nearly 104 thousand at the end of March. The number of job vacancies has grown for the fourth consecutive quarter. The number of job vacancies grew notably in the private sector, but only marginally in the public sector.
