More employed develop burnout symptoms

The proportion of employed developing burnout symptoms has grown between 2007 and 2010. The burnout rate is marginally higher among higher educated than among lower educated and relatively low among young employed. Burnout symptoms are most frequently found in the sector education.

More than 1 in 8 employed develop burnout symptoms

The percentage of employed developing burnout symptoms has increased in recent years from 11 percent in 2007 to 13 percent in 2010.

Nearly 15 percent of higher educated, often employed at a high professional level have burnout symptoms versus more than 13 percent of lower educated employed. With 12 percent, the burnout rate was lowest among people educated at secondary level. Young employed less often developed burnout symptoms than their older counterparts. In the 15-25 age bracket, one in ten had burnout symptoms, as against more than one in seven over-25s.

Burnout rate highest in sector education

The job burnout rate varies according to sector. The rate is highest in the sector education, immediately followed by manufacturing industry.
