Use of government websites

The use of government websites includes websites of the government and other public bodies. E-mail contacts with civil servants are not included. The term public body refers to public services and administrative activities, e.g. tax declarations, benefit applications, health care or education. Public bodies operate on the local, regional and national level. Until 2013, the survey referred to public bodies, but since 2013 the term public bodies was replaced by public bodies or public services.
The survey ‘ICT use by households and individuals’ is conducted in all EU member states and is commissioned by the European Commission. By means of this survey, information is collected about access to and use of ICT equipment and the internet among households and individuals. On the European level, the survey is conducted among people aged between 16 and 75, excluding people living in homes and institutions.
