Rented or owner-occupied homes

These data are based on the Social Statistical Database (SSB). The SSB is a system of linkable registers. The proportion of rented versus owner-occupied homes is calculated on the basis of occupied addresses in the municipal population registers (GBA). These addresses are compared with the total owner-occupied housing stock to calculate the ratio of rented versus owner-occupied houses. The figures refer to the situation in September 2005. Addresses referring to ‘ownership unknown’ (3 percent in total) were not taken into account. As a result, the percentages may vary from results published earlier.
