For the Business sentiment survey Statistics Netherlands (CBS) conducts a survey among approximately 1300 companies in business services. The survey aims to get fast and up-to-date information about the economic developments in the individual kinds of business services and in business services as a whole.
For this purpose companies are asked questions every month such as: what is the development of realisations (like turnover, prices and personnel); and what is the expectation for the next period (turnover, prices and personnel).
The outcomes from the business sentiment survey are expressed as the balance between the percentage of positive (increased, improved) and negative (decreased, deteriorated) answers.
