Jobseekers Employment Act (WIW)
The aim of the law is to offer municipalities the opportunity to increase employment opportunities for the long-term unemployed, people on benefits and young unemployed people up to age 23. The law was superseded by the Work and Social Assistance Act (WWB) on 1 January 2004. As of 1 January 2004 municipalities must take care of the reintegration of the long-term unemployed and school-leavers.
